Charles Rennie Mackintosh Classic Font
There are a few Mackintosh fonts on the market, but only here will you find the original “Charles Rennie Mackintosh Font”. In reality, there never was a Charles Rennie Mackintosh typeface as such. Close inspection of their work will show that Charles Rennie Mackintosh - and his wife, Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh - used various lettering styles to embellish designs and architectural drawings.
The font contains over 100 characters, including Mackintosh rose motifs, and simply oozes “Mackintosh”.
The classic Charles Rennie Mackintosh Font is the most widely used commercially, by stores, nameplate makers, architects, designers and arts and crafts manufacturers. Our font produced the signage for the welcome display in Glasgow International Airport and for many of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh heritage sites overseen by the National Trust for Scotland as well as being the font of choice for the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society. It was used by Hollywood director Sam Raimi in his ‘Spider Man 2’ movie and was used again in Tinseltown in the titling and publicity material for ‘An American Horror Story’.
Its synonymousness (yes, it is a real word) with the City of Glasgow is further cemented by its inclusion in the opening ceremony of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
